Let's calculate the payment required for a $150,000 loan with an interest
rate of 7.25% for 30 years, with payments due once a month.
Input 150000 and press or click [Enter <---], input 30 and press [Enter <---], then 12 [Enter <---], (payments remaining will be calculated), 7.25 [Enter <---], (periodic interest will be calculated - it's here for reference information only), the Payment and Total will be calculated and displayed.
From the screen shot you can see that there are five different values that can be re-calculated based on which value has an option button next to it. Click on the Payment option button to recalculate the payment based on any of the other available values. Let's see what the payment would be if the interest rate was reduced to 7%. Click inside the APR text box and enter the new value (7), and the new periodic interest, payment and total of payments will be calculated and displayed.
