The Convert Keypad
(Just
the keypad is shown, the remainder of the calculator is unchanged, Click
the keypad to see the entire calculator and use your Web browser's Back
button to return to this page.)
This is a conversion calculator that performs a preponderance of
translations, including all the standard conversions and a handy Physical
Constants table ('K').
Enter
the number you want to convert, Click the button and a Window will pop up with
radio buttons to let you choose the "Convert From:" and "Convert
To:" units (see 'A²' below for a preview).
Convert between:
'L¹' Length; 53 different lengths.
'A²' Area; 21 different areas.
Click on this thumbnail for a preview (use your Web browser's Back
button to return to this page).
'V³' Volumes; 51 volumes.
'wt' Mass; 33 masses.
'P' Pressure; 18 different pressures.
'F' Force; 9 forces.
'r'
Density; 6 densities
(Click on the button while pressing the Ctrl key to see a list of the specific gravity of some
common materials).
'V' Viscosity; 7 Dynamic or 4 Kinematic
viscosities.
'WF' Wave Form; 4 wave forms.
'dB' decibels; dB, Nepers and Bels.
'Lt' Light; 11 Illuminances, 15 Luminances, or lumens and candlepower.
p: Eight constants involving pi
(3.1415..), no conversions here.
'tm' Time;16 different times.
's/f' Speed and Acceleration; 12
different speeds or 6 different accelerations.
Shift+'s/f' Fuel consumption; 9 different fuel
consumptions.
'G'
Torque; 3 different torques.
'T°' Temperature; 5 temperature scales.
'W' Power; 19 powers (6 different horse
powers).
'E' Energy and Energy/(Area · Time); 16
energies or 8 Energies/Area x Time.
'Mg' Magnetic; three different Magnetic conversions
(Induction, permeability, and Magnetic Force)
'K' Constants; no conversions here either, this is a list of more than 40 physical constants, listed alphabetically. Click on the constant to see the value and units of the constant. Double-click to bring the constant into the x-register.
Öx Square root of x. Ctrl+X
from the keyboard.
x²: x squared. Shift+Ctrl+X from the keyboard.
1/x: Reciprocal of x. X from the keyboard.
'val' Value; this will convert resistor, capacitor and
inductor codes into the actual values and vise versa (enter a value and find the
code). Right-Click to see a table of color codes used.
If you need to convert a lot of the same units, (e.g. inches to centimeters),
when you perform the first conversion press the Alt key while clicking the
length button 'L¹' and the conversion factor (2.54 in this
case) will be placed in memory register m4. The number in memory register m4 is
used as a constant in conjunction with the Alt key and the math keys (+, -, X,
and ÷) to perform the selected operation, in this case the times (X) button, on
the number in the x-register or entry register. This feature is available
for all the conversion except temperature.
