Lµ - L vs Permeability Calculator

Click the pale yellow [Lµ] button on the Magnetics Keypad to launch the L vs Permeability Calculator. For a detailed description of the Multiple-Entry Calculators, click this link.

Inductance in Henrys based on the core geometry (Ae in cm², and le in cm), permeability (Lµ), and turns (n); L = 0.4 x p x n² x µ x Ae/(le x 1e8). These units are the default, as you can see they can be changed.

Given an inductance requirement of 3.5 Hy and a core area of 4.5 cm², with a path length of 12 cm, and a permeability of 3500 mu, find the number of turns required to meet these requirements.

Using the default units input 3.5 (L) and press or click [Enter <—] twice since we are calculating the turns, input 4.5 (Ae) press [Enter <—]
