rT - Temperature Coefficient of Resistivity Calculator

Click the pale yellow 'rT' button to launch the Calculator. For a detailed description of the Multiple-Entry Calculators, click this link.

Temperature Coefficient od ResistivityThis function calculates the change in resistance, due to temperature for various materials. The relationship is: R2 = R1[1 + a (T2 - T1)], where a is the temperature coefficient of resistivity of the material at temperature T1.

Use the "Typical Values" table to find the coefficient of resistivity for several common materials at 20°c you can select a, or Double Click on the Material and the value will be selected. For copper or aluminum use the 20°c value for a, and REC will calculate the value of a at T1.
